Chondroitin sulfate

It is formed by the glycosidic bond between D-glucuronic acid and N-acetylgalactosamine to form a repeating disaccharide unit. The molecule has a large number of sulfate and carboxyl groups, is strongly negatively charged, and can bind to metal cations and proteins.

Promotes cartilage repair: Stimulates chondrocytes to synthesize type II collagen and proteoglycans, replenishing cartilage matrix raw materials, delaying articular cartilage degeneration and wear, and promoting the repair of damaged cartilage.

Anti-inflammatory and analgesic: Inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory factors such as interleukin-1 (IL-1) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), reduces the activity of cartilage-degrading enzymes such as matrix metalloproteinases, alleviates intra-articular inflammation, relieves joint pain and stiffness, and improves joint function.

Improves joint lubrication: Increases the viscoelasticity and secretion of synovial fluid, reduces friction and mechanical impact on joint surfaces, and slows down cartilage wear.

Clinically, it is often used in combination with hydrochloric acid/glucosamine sulfate for long-term adjuvant treatment of osteoarthritis in various parts of the body.
